This week’s “Memory Lane Monday” post comes from my very 1st visit to Walt Disney World back in 1997. Not only was I celebrating a birthday, but the Magic Kingdom was right in the midst of celebrating it’s 25th birthday.
Part of this celebration included the transformation of Cinderella Castle into a giant, pink birthday cake. While it’s been widely criticized and many people were not and still are not a fan of it, it holds a special place in my heart as it was the first time I was visiting the “happiest place on earth.” I’ll never forget the first time I stepped foot on Main Street USA and viewed the then pink birthday cake castle.
Recently, Disney released a 9″ Vinylmation in it’s Park 8 series commemorating the 25th anniversary cake. Of course I had to add it to my growing collection of Vinylmation to continue to keep my memories of my first visit and the 25th anniversary alive.
Happy Monday!
