Artist Spotlight: Robert Guillaume

Robert Guillaume is this week’s Artist Spotlight.  Most known for his role as Benson Du Bois in Benson, this American actor has a career that has spanned more than 50 years.  Another notable work by Mr. Guillaume is the 1989 film, Lean on Me, which is dear to my heart since it features my hometown, Paterson, NJ.  Nevertheless, this is a Disney blog, so let me showcase his Disney work in the movie, The Lion King.  Guillaume played the voice of the wise, old mandrill, Rafiki.  As noted last week in my first Artist Spotlight of Alton Fitzgerald White, Disney’s The Lion King is one of my all-time favorite movies.  Come back soon as I’ll feature another artist next week. :)
